The Town of Blackfalds is reminding all residents to be responsible pet owners by promptly cleaning up after their dogs. Leaving dog waste in public areas is not only unsanitary but also poses potential health risks to residents and pets alike.Why it's important:Health and Hygiene: Dog waste can harbour harmful bacteria and parasites that can be dangerous for humans, especially children, and other animals.Public Spaces: Clean streets, parks, and walkways contribute to a more pleasant and enjoyable environment for everyone.Respect for Neighbours: Leaving dog waste can be unsightly and disrespectful to those who share our community spaces.How to do it right:Bring a poop bag: Always carry a poop bag when walking your dog.Pick it up immediately: When your dog defecates, promptly pick up the waste and dispose of it properly in a designated waste container or your own garbage.Don't leave it: Ensure that you don't leave bags of dog waste lying on the ground or attached to trees.Enforcement:The Town of Blackfalds takes this issue seriously and will be enforcing ourAnimal Control BylawThank you for your cooperation in keeping our community clean and healthy!
