All Star Sports Park & Campground

Blackfalds' Premiere Sports Park

Located on the south-west corner of Blackfalds, All-Star Park is the hub for community gatherings and includes 4 fenced baseball/softball diamonds and seating areas for families and friends to cheer on their superstars, the Optimist Club All Wheels Park, Bike Skills Park and future home of a track and football field. Amenities include a playground, two soccer fields and amenities such as washrooms, showers, concession, picnic areas, fire pits, and camp sites. See camping rates & information.

  • Valley Ridge Park & Ball Diamond #5 4401 Westbrooke Rd Map

With access to the Trans Canada Trail which links to the Abbey Centre, this park features a baseball diamond and parking.

  • Cottonwood Ball Diamond #6 65 Cedar Square Map

The Cottonwood Ball Diamond is located off of Cedar Square, just north of the space-themed playground at Iron Ridge Intermediate Campus and St. Gregory the Great schools.

  • Centennial Park & Ice Skating Pond Panorama Dr. Map

The trail runs around the pond, and includes a tree house themed playground, soccer field, and outdoor basketball court. You can choose to walk, bike or drive and park in the nearby parking lot.

4505 South St. Map

Located just east of the Protective Services building on South Street, the off-leash dog park offers a paved parking lot, a space for small dogs, a separate large & small dog area, plus an agility training area. Complimentary bags are provided to keep the area clean.

Optimists All Wheels Park

The Optimists All Wheels Park officially opened on June 2, 2017. Located on the North end of All-Star Park at 4505 Womacks Road, the Optimists All Wheels Park features snakerun/flow bowl with escalating pockets, drop-in turnaround bank with roll-in and transition extension, and much more. Special thanks to the Optimist Club of Blackfalds, whose members raised $250K of the project cost.

Bike Skills Park

Riders in Blackfalds and surrounding area can get excited about the new 12-acre bike park at 4511 Womacks Road. The park has practice trails, balance features such as ladder bridges and logs, a pump track and jumps ranging from two to five feet along with a couple of expert wood jumps.

Tayles Water Spray Park

The Splash Park will be open for the season May 25, 2019.

Family fun is only a splash away!

A great place to cool off on those hot summer days, Tayles Park is open from late May - Sept. Labour Day weekend from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm and has a variety of spray features. Located next to the Civic Centre pirate ship playground, the park also features a gazebo, washrooms, picnic areas, and tables.

Light Up Blackfalds at the Park

Every November, Town staff transform the park into a musical light show for the annual "Light Up Blackfalds" event.
Catch the light show display immediately following the event until the first week of January. The light show schedule is Sunday to Thursday from 5 pm until dawn; music show 6:00-8:00 pm, and Friday and Saturday at 5 pm until dawn; music show, 6:00-9:00 pm.

  • Civic Centre Pirate Playground 5018 Waghorn St (Corner of Gregg St.) Map

New to our line-up of parks is our pirate themed playground adjacent to the Town office and Tayles water & spray park. Convenient parking along Gregg Street makes it the perfect spot to cool off on those hot summer days and has a magnificent Christmas lights display from November to beginning of January.

  • Prairie Ridge Park & Playground Camille St & Prairie Ridge Ave. Map

Located in Cottonwood Meadows along Prairie Ridge Ave., this climbing playground has nearby parking for your convenience

  • Harvest Meadows Park 24 Willow Rd Map

This playground can be accessed via the Trans Canada Trail, and comprises of a large open green space and parking lot.

  • McKay Ranch Playground Eastpointe Dr Map

This western style ranch themed playground includes a large open green space and parking lot and is poised for further development.

  • Mickey Lang Park & Community Centre Playground 4810 Womacks Rd Map

Just north of the Community Centre, this park and playground has benches, swings, and climbing structure plus large open green space. In the winter, enjoy tobogganing on the hill behind the Community Centre.

Adjacent to the hall are tennis/pickle ball courts during the following hours:

  • Dinosaur Playground 4500 Womacks Rd Map

Just east of the parking lot of the Abbey Centre, kids can climb, slide and explore in this one of a kind playground while adults can work out at the outdoor fitness stations. Running alongside the park is the Trans Canada Trail (TCT) that leads right to the indoor portion of the TCT and the second floor of the Abbey Centre.

This playground can be accessed via the trail system, has a large open green space and is the site of the Pine Cres Community Garden, Skateboard Park and Outdoor Ice Rink with plenty of parking.

This tot lot playground and park includes basketball hoops, swings, picnic tables, and large open green space.

  • Tutty Pond Park Blackfalds Crossing | (West of) 4501 Broadway Ave Virtual Map

The site, thanks to the Tutty family, was created for public enjoyment and integration of the trail system to assist in trail connectivity northward towards Town centre.

The park features outdoor seating, walking trails and a picturesque gazebo.

  • Valley Ridge Inclusive Playground (NEW) 5401 Vista Trail Map

This inclusive playground will be installed Oct. 2019 and will accommodate all children regardless of cognitive or physical abilities. This important community space will provide the cognitive and physical benefits of play and will will connect people in the community and enhance their quality of life.
