About the Abbey

Centrally located between Calgary and Edmonton and just minutes away from Red Deer, Sylvan Lake and Lacombe, the Abbey Centre offers fitness and fun for all ages with over 41,000 sq. ft. of indoor recreational opportunities.

Explore the tunnels and slides in the 3-story indoor playground, or treat yourself to a quick bite at the concession after you work out in the state-of-the-art fitness centre while your kids are cared for by child minding.

Get away from the elements and take advantage of the 152 metre running track on the 3rd level, overlooking the activities in the triple gymnasium field house. Avid runners, walkers & cyclists will appreciate that the Abbey Centre is the only place in Canada where the Trans Canada Trail travels indoors (entrance on 2nd level).

In the summer months, cool off and have fun in the sun at the outdoor aquatic centre, plan a picnic in the park, let the little ones discover the dinosaurs in the playground, or take in the entertainment at the outdoor amphitheatre.

See you at the Abbey, where family, friends & fitness are found!

Another Perk For Abbey Centre Members! Members can drop in to any eligible fitness class at no charge!  Please follow steps 1 and 2 above to book your spot.

Recycle 4 Reward

In an effort to keep guest wristbands from going in the trash or littering the streets, our R4R program encourages guests and members to write their name and phone number on the back of their wristband and drop it in the red drop box on their way out of the Abbey for a chance to win a $75 prize.

The July Recycle 4 Reward of a $75 gift card is sponsored by Blackfalds Chiropractic Centre. Thank you for recycling!

Make sure to enter your wristband in the drop box for a chance to win a $75 gift card.

Physical Activity Prescription (PARx)

In partnership with the Primary Care Network (PCN), the Abbey Centre is pleased to be a participating facility in the Physical Activity Prescription program. Encouraging people to take part in various exercise programs, PCN health professionals will prescribe the amount of activity you need to help improve your health and prevent disease.  For more info visit  Primary Care Network or call 403.343.9100.
