Residents are asked for input regarding Cannabis legalization in Blackfalds
The Town of Blackfalds hosted an Open House on October 2 to present proposed updates, changes and next steps for cannabis management in Blackfalds in preparation of the October 17 legalization date. Over the past few months, the Town has worked with its residents and stakeholders to address concerns and issues brought forth from this impending legalization and adopt changes to address areas of concern.
The public was invited to join Members of Council and the Cannabis Community Action Committee (CCAC) who were on hand to answer any questions and inform the public about the proposed recommendations presented as well as the latest changes and additions to the Town’s Municipal bylaws in the following three (3) key areas:
- Land Use/ Development,
- Community Standards/ Enforcement, and
- Social and Human Services.
See the CCAC recommendations here.
If there are any questions on the proposed changes as we move forward with the change in legislation, we welcome residents' input and involvement by contacting one of our Councillors, email firstname.lastname@example.org or message us via the Town’s Facebook page.
