Public Works Week - Aaron Boehme

posted on May 20 2020

No job is too large or too small when it comes to working with Public Works. Every single part to play in the department is incredibly important to the Town and the services that provided to the residents. Since joining the Town in May of 2013, Aaron Boehme enjoys every little job he is assigned.

“I am a labourer of Public Works. I assist with everything from potholes, crack filling to snow removal and line painting.”

Although Aaron currently lives in Red Deer, he always knew that he wanted to work for a municipality in a smaller community and, after emailing the Director over 200 times, he finally got a call back for an interview and the rest is history!

“My favourite thing about working with the Town is the fact that it’s very easy to find my way around job sites and working with a smaller group of co-workers makes it so much easier to get along.”

His least favourite thing, he adds with a chuckle, is “not having lunch provided.”

Aaron’s especially proud of how well and how quickly he learned to run the equipment, and especially enjoys running the snow plow in the winter time.

When Aaron is not at work, he is etching glass or making wooden signs or spending time with his family. Aaron is engaged to his fiancée Terrah and together they have two children, Paighton who is 9 years old and newborn son Haydon.

Thank you, Aaron, for all the work that you do for the Town!
