Public Notice | McKay Ridge Area Structure Plan and Land Use Bylaw Amendment

Council of the Town of Blackfalds has given first reading to By-law No. 1243/20 and 1244/20, the purpose of amending the McKay Ridge Area Structure Plan and Land Use Bylaw #1198/16.

The map below shows the lots located in McKay Ranch at the east edge of Eastpointe Drive being changed from R-1S (Residential Small Lot District) to R-2 (Residential Multi Dwelling District); C-3 Commercial Local District to R-5 (Residential High Density) and R-3 (Residential Medium Density District to R-5 (Residential High Density District).

A copy of the proposed By-laws and all public documents applicable to the proposed Bylaws may be inspected at the Town Office during regular office hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Mondays to Fridays. 

The Town Council will hold two Public Hearings in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Office, 5018 Waghorn Street, Blackfalds, on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 commencing at 7:00 p.m. for the purpose of receiving comments from any interested parties on the proposed Bylaw amendments.

Public Hearing # 1 will commence at 7:00pm for 1243/20 and Public Hearing # 2 commences at 7:05pm for 1244/20 after completion of Hearing #1.

Members of the public - for the public participation section of each hearing – are able to provide comment through e-mail through or by phone @ 403-885-6248 should anyone who supports the Bylaw and wishes to speak; or if anyone opposed the Bylaw and wishes to speak; or if anyone is deemed affected by the Bylaw and wishes to speak
