COVID-19 Update for the Town of Blackfalds
Blackfalds, Alberta (November 13, 2020) – The Province of Alberta announced yesterday that new health measures would be implemented, effective November 13 to 27, to help stop the spread of COVID-19 cases in Alberta.
These health measures will immediately affect the Calgary area, the Edmonton area, Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge, Red Deer, and places considered “enhanced” such as the City of Lacombe and Ponoka County. As of now, the Town of Blackfalds will not be affected by this update; however, we will monitor the watch statuses regularly.
Please be advised that the Abbey Centre will not be suspending fitness classes or group sports at this time. Should our members or visitors be uncomfortable with the rising numbers and opt-out of a course or registered program, we will issue full refunds.
As well, the Eagle Builders Centre (existing Multi-Plex Arena) operations will not change at this time. Sports activities will continue, but we do ask that our visitors adhere to our updated guidelines, including spectator numbers, social distancing, and donning masks.
We will continue to keep you updated as new information comes forth from both the Government of Alberta and our Emergency Management Committee.
Please see the Government of Alberta’s Targeted Health Measures here.
