New Library Named Servus Credit Union Library

posted on Apr 7 2021

Blackfalds, Alberta (April 7, 2021) – The Town of Blackfalds is proud to announce that the Eagle Builders Centre’s brand-new library will be named the Servus Credit Union Public Library. Town Council accepted the facility sponsorship at their February 9 Regular Council Committee meeting.

Mayor Richard Poole shares that he is very proud to name Servus as a partner on the library build and the positive impact it is sure to have in the community.

“I am very excited that Servus has once again stepped forward to support another Blackfalds project. Their participation shows a commitment to being a positive and valuable force within our community,” he adds. “Their choice to have that support go to the Library demonstrates their tradition of helping provide diverse opportunities for all ages within our Town.”

Servus Credit Union first expressed their excitement and support for the build when the Town approached them in late 2020 and explained the new library opportunity.

“Libraries are such important community spaces, and as a community-based financial institution, Servus is really proud to partner with the Town of Blackfalds to build their new library,” says Teresa Wigmore, Blackfalds Branch Manager for Servus. “I know we’re all looking forward to being able to connect and gather again in person after the pandemic, and this space will be a great place to do that.”

The upcoming library will feature two levels, multiple meeting rooms, added youth programming areas, and a highly anticipated outdoor learning center. The development of this facility will support a larger and growing community.
