Annual Blackfalds Municipal Census May 1 – June 30
The Town of Blackfalds will be conducting a Municipal Census starting May 1 - June 30. It will be conducted through online responses as well as door-to-door with official census enumerators.
By April 30, each residence will receive a letter with their Census Personal Identification Number (PIN). This unique and secure PIN is specific to addresses and is required to log in to the online Census at www.censusalberta.ca/blackfalds. Residents who complete their Census online by May 15 will be automatically entered for a chance to win an Abbey Centre Annual Family Pass or a tablet of similar value.
Overview of Timelines:
Online Collection | May 1 to June 30
Door-to-Door Enumeration | May 15 to June 30
Residents who have not responded online will be visited by an enumerator between May 15 and June 30. Enumerators are responsible for confidential collection authorized by the Town and will be wearing a Town of Blackfalds photo identification badge along with logo branded vests.
The Census data collected will be used to determine an official population and residence count, to be used for grants available through the Province, which are awarded on a per capita basis and a Census count ensures that maximum grant funds are received.
To report issues, complete your Census with our staff, or for general inquiries, please contact our Census Office at 403.885.4677 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Alberta Municipal Affairs requires that the Town contact 10% of enumerated addresses for quality assurance prior to August 31. Census Staff will be contacting participating residences throughout the census collection period to confirm the dwelling address and usual number of residents living in the home.
