Snow Angel Program

The Snow Angel Program is a volunteer program that supports Blackfalds seniors and those with physical restrictions; by removing snow from resident’s driveway/walkway along with sidewalks to ensure they are safe for all.

We currently have 7 residents on our Snow Angel Program waiting for volunteers and snow is back in the forecast! Are you interested in filling these roles?
Snow Angels are individuals who help shovel the driveway/walkways of those who are unable to do so during the winter months.

This program encourages neighbours to help neighbours and build a strong, more connected community.

“Adopting” a drive/walkway is a fun and healthy way for all ages to enjoy the outdoors while contributing to improving the quality of life of someone in need.

Do you know someone in your organization who selflessly gives their time? 

Please consider recognizing them by nominating them for the awards listed below before March 1, 2021. Full details, including nomination form, criteria and guidelines for each award can be found in the below links

Carol Simpson Volunteer of the Year Award

Recognizes an individual who has exemplified volunteerism by being a leader through their actions.

Gloria House Mentor Award

Recognizes an outstanding mentor in our community who demonstrates commitment to mentoring community members.

Outstanding Group Award (Adult category)

Recognizes a group of 3 or more people, organization, society or team who have come together to volunteer time involving leadership, innovation and creativity.

Dylan Stork Youth Ambassador Award

Recognizes a youth individual or group who has contributed to their community and been an ambassador for the community of Blackfalds.

Leaders of Tomorrow Awards (Elementary, Junior High and High School category)

Recognizes a youth between grades 1-12 who deserve recognition for their devotion to helping others.

Outstanding Group Award (Youth category)

Recognizes a group of 3 or more people, organization, society or team who have come together to volunteer time involving leadership, innovation and creativity.
