Christmas Bureau

This collaborative community effort helps low-income Blackfalds families and residents celebrate and enjoy the holidays through the distribution of Christmas hampers.

To donate, please send your contribution to our FCSS office. Be sure to include your return address and specify what you are donating for. You will receive a tax receipt within 2 weeks.

Eligible families must apply by November 29th.

Winter Coat Program

Through the generous support of local partners and residents, Blackfalds FCSS provides all eligible children in Blackfalds with a new winter jacket.

Eligible families must apply by Sept 16.

Leisure Access Program

Thanks to the Leisure Access Program (LAP), the Town of Blackfalds will subsidize fees for eligible individuals who are unable to pay for municipally operated programs, memberships and admissions that will contribute to their personal growth and community involvement. Through this program the quality of life and well-being of Blackfalds residents will be greatly improved; creating a strong and healthy community.

Back to School Program

In partnership with Staples, Blackfalds FCSS ensures that every student in our community has access to the supplies needed to reach their full academic potential. This is done by providing backpacks filled with school supplies for Blackfalds' students in Kindergarten through to Grade 12.

Eligible families must apply by June 30th.

FCSS Subsidized Programs Application Form

Please be advised that approval of this application is to be at the sole discretion of The Town of Blackfalds FCSS.  

Blackfalds FCSS retains the right to refuse service to applicants based on information that is provided or becomes aware of through the application process.  

Blackfalds FCSS will exercise its discretion in a reasonable manner, however, will ensure that the reputation and good standing of the Blackfalds FCSS is always upheld.

Family and Community Support Services offers several programs individuals can apply for to receive subsidies. Please fill out the following information to determine eligibility to each program.

Applicants must be provide:

  • Proof of identity (Photo ID & Alberta Health Care numbers for dependent children)
  • Proof of Blackfalds residency (utility bill or similar document showing street address)
  • Current proof of income (see page 2 for eligible documentation types)

First Name, Last Name, Relationship to Applicant, Gender, Age, AHC#

Please indicate all persons living in the same dwelling and related by blood, marriage, common-law relationship or adoption

  1. The above noted applicant is the main applicant and is responsible to inform all members of the household family about the program and conditions of use.
  2. Blackfalds FCSS has permission to check the information within this application.
  3. Blackfalds FCSS has permission to share information within this application between The Town of Blackfalds subsidy programs for the purpose of assessing the application.
  4. Blackfalds FCSS may contact the applicant in matters pertaining to this application.
  5. The information provided for this application is true.
  6. If there is a change in household circumstances (i.e. change of address, new job etc.) please notify Blackfalds FCSS immediately. Changes may impact program eligibility.
