Welcome to the new Blackfalds On-demand Local Transit (BOLT), the local on-demand service with service to Red Deer North!

UPDATE Dec. 8, 2020: Due to new COVID-19 restrictions BOLT will only take up to 4 people at a time.

Holiday Hours: BOLT will not be running Good Friday (April 5)

As per Bylaw 1253.20, face coverings will be mandatory in all indoor public spaces, which includes all places of business and public transportation.

BOLT Route, Fares and Map

BOLT is a two-year pilot program that delivers a more efficient and flexible transit rideshare service model that features one 7-passenger van with one wheelchair accessible seat and lift.

Please note due to COVID-19 bus restrictions the Bolt bus will only take up to 4 people at a time.

To access the new on-demand system, users can download the mobile app (see above), or call 403.885.BOLT (2658) directly to request a bus at a specific stop at a specific day and time (during service hours).

Buses can be requested up to two weeks in advance, or within minutes.

*As of December 14, BOLT tickets are only available for purchase at the FCSS building. Riders are encouraged to purchase tickets online if they are able to.

* Tickets and passes must be pre-purchased and are available at the Town Office (5018 Waghorn St) or the Abbey Centre (4500 Womacks Rd).

 

Drivers do not accept cash fares.

Future units will be purchased as necessary.
