BOLT - Blackfalds On-demand Local Transit

BOLT Regional Public Transit to Blackfalds, Lacombe and Red Deer  ceased operations on Friday, August 28, 2020 and was replaced by the new Blackfalds On-demand Local Transit (BOLT), the local on-demand service with service to Red Deer North starting Monday, August 31, 2020.

BOLT Route, Fares and Map

Customers are highly encouraged to follow AHS guidance to wear non-medical masks or face coverings when using public transit, or in other locations where physical distancing is not possible.

BOLT is a two-year pilot program that delivers a more efficient and flexible transit rideshare service model that features one 7-passenger van with one wheelchair accessible seat and lift.

To access the new on-demand system, users can download the mobile app (see above), or call 403.885.BOLT (2658) directly to request a bus at a specific stop at a specific day and time (during service hours).

Buses can be requested up to two weeks in advance, or within minutes.

* Tickets and passes must be pre-purchased and are available at the Town Office (5018 Waghorn St) or the Abbey Centre (4500 Womacks Rd).

Drivers do not accept cash fares.

How many vehicles does BOLT run?

Future units will be purchased as necessary.
