The End is Here
But the Future Looks Great
December 31 is the end of another decade. We can reflect on the challenges and accomplishments of these years, but it is as important that each of us look for ways to make the next ten years even better.
Over the past year with the help of our community we made time to Celebrate.
We had the Winterfest and Blackfalds days festivals, Numerous gatherings including the Winter Games relay, Canada Day, Concerts at the Abbey, while our Light up Blackfalds and the CP train provided time to show how well our community comes together to have some fun.
We celebrated the opening of the Tutty Ponds which has been well used and enjoyed by picture takers, dog walkers, and picnic goers.
Through the cooperative efforts of The Optimists, Volunteers, and staff a new All-Inclusive playpark will open in the spring that will include a dual zip line, two-bay swing set and spinning net climber as well as a number of other features that will allow people of all abilities to be part of the fun.
Blackfalds Crossing with its two Anchor stores is causing excitement, and we are optimistic that these new additions will showcase the promise of new commercial opportunities in Blackfalds.
Town Council with staff will be sharing the Municipal Sustainability Plan in the next few months and with this document as a blueprint your Council will engage our citizens as we Move into the 2020s and continue our journey as we become the Greatest Town in Alberta.
And now, as this decade winds down, I invite you to make time during this Xmas Season for one last celebration of the decade.
From your Town Council Here is our Wish for You
