The Enhanced COVID-19 Business Benefit will start in mid-April and will provide funding to eligible small and medium businesses most affected by the pandemic and ongoing public health restrictions. Payments will be calculated based on 15% of the eligible business’s monthly revenue, up to a maximum of $10,000.  Full details can be found at Enhanced COVID-19 Business Benefit.

A reminder that SME Relaunch Grant will close to applications March 31, 2021.  The program was expanded in February to include new businesses opened in the last year and to unregistered sole proprietors.

The Federal Government programs available to business owners can be found at Canada's COVID-19 Economic Response PlanPlease note that last week announcements were made to extend several of the programs that were expiring in the next few months.

Alberta Biz Connect - provides sector specific guides for reopening, answers to FAQs and more. Check back frequently, as  business resources are being added regularly. 

Workplace Guidelines for Business Owners outlines criteria to be addressed in the workplace. All workplaces are expected to develop & implement these policies & procedures prior to re-opening or continuing operations.

Greenspace Opportunities for Blackfalds Businesses!

As directed by Council on April 27, the Town of Blackfalds is now offering the Ag Society Amphitheatre and parking lots free of charge for businesses to use during the month of May.

The Town is also offering picnic tables. These will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.

In order to book these spaces, please contact Guest Services at 403.885.4039 and state a preferred time and date.

- Community Centre Parking Lot

- Ag Society Amphitheatre

All-Star Park is not included as recreation sports are starting up.

Public parks and playgrounds are available for public use at any time. If businesses choose to run programming at these public green spaces, a business licence will be required.
