In response to COVID-19, the top priority is to protect public health. For detail on this see Health Canada & Alberta Health Services for up to date information. However, this health pandemic is also affecting our business community through changes in consumption, supply chain disruptions, physical distancing and more.  See the the information available through the links below as well as Advice for Businesses & Organizations and Insurance and Covid-19 Information.

Should your business close for an extended period of time, RCMP recommend:

  • having an alarm system on
  • leaving some lights on inside and outdoors to assist with visibility during patrols
  • not blocking windows with posters or signs, so that the interior may be viewed
  • securing waste carts
  • checking the property regularly and consider acquiring help from a security company
  • watching out for one another - check on your neighbours' business when you are checking on your own
