Starting May 17 - 21, 2010, the Town of Blackfalds is implementing two important intitiatives: Rain Barrels & Backyard Composters.  Rain barrels can reduce your consumption of treated water up to 20%, for example 1 inch of rain falling on a 1000sq. ft roof area can produce up to 600 gallons of water which can then in turn be used on plants, gardens and lawns.  Backyard Composters are used to reduce the carbon foot print for the Town by reducing the amount of Municipal Solid waste going to the landfill site by almost 50%.

During the week of May 17-21, 2010, Rain Barrels and Composters are available for purchase on a first come, first serve basis at the Town Office in Blackfalds, by filling out the attached form and bringing it into the office. Please note that these items are a pick up item only and are available for viewing both in person or by the link below.  Thank you for taking part in keeping Blackfalds a clean and beautiful place to grow!
