The Land Use By-law is used to regulate and control the use and development of lands and buildings
within the Town of Blackfalds. The By-law divides the Town into various districts, outlines permitted
and discretionary uses that are allowed in those districts, establishes a method for making decisions on
applications for development and issuance of development permits, and among other things, provides regulations to
ensure that land use and development has minimal impact on surrounding properties.
The By-law is an important tool used to regulate the use of land and types of development within the neighborhood in
which you live and work in order to ensure compatible development and harmonious relationships between landowners and neighborhoods
within the Town.
