Fire
The
BLACKFALDS FIRE / RESCUE
Blackfalds Fire / Rescue provides fire and rescue services
to the Town of Blackfalds and the Blackfalds Fire District, along with Mutual aid support for
the Counties of Lacombe and Red Deer.
Our first responsibility to the residents of the Town of
Blackfalds and the Blackfalds Fire District, by providing fire protection, rescue, hazardous
materials response, ambulance assistance, "Life Line"
support, and a helping hand when community members
are in distress.
WHY IS SO MUCH TIME SPENT ON TRAINING?
Over the years, the fire service has evolved into a
public safety agency providing highly technical and
diverse services. The general public has come to rely
on the fire service not only when life and property are
threatened by manmade and natural emergencies, but
for seemingly smaller problems as well.
In order to ensure that all firefighters are prepared to
deliver the best level of services required, training
standards have been developed by Fire Etc
Training School and Blackfalds Fire / Rescue to
provide each firefighter with the needed skills,
knowledge and ability necessary to deliver emergency
services to the residents of Blackfalds and the Blackfalds fire district.
ARE THERE ANY OTHER BENEFITS?
There are many benefits to becoming a volunteer Firefighter.
Volunteer firefighters are provided with a chance to participate in all activities and grow as an Individual.

and fund raising. Annual awards of achievement and honor are given out during the Firefighters Ball.
Uniforms and coveralls are provided to volunteer firefighters
along with identity license plates and emergency response lights for personal vehicles.
Also each firefighter is provided with a pager, two way radio and full protective clothing (bunker gear).
Although Blackfalds Fire / Rescue has an excellent safety record,
protection is provided through municipal insurance programs, and WCB.
