| The Municipal Enforcement Department is here to protect
you, the Town of Blackfalds’ citizens. Their main focus
is traffic control and public safety, while upholding Provincial
Law Enforcement. Local bylaws are addressed on a complaint
basis only.
A fair measure of their time is spent assisting the RCMP
on various calls and traffic control at accidents.
As public safety is the main emphasis, their hours are
6am – 2am. This shift covers curfew enforcement, removal
of inebriated individuals from our streets, impaired drivers,
24 hour suspensions for impairments, child safety, preventative
and walk throughs at community functions, loud music/party
complaints and RCMP assistance.
Constable Gary Smith has been a Special
Constable for 12 years. He has served six other municipalities,
the US Army MPs and the Canadian Army.
His strong message to kids: Be smart, be safe, wear your
bike helmet!!
Just so “NO” to drugs!
