Land Use Bylaw Amendment
This form is required in order to request an amendment to the Land Use By-law to redesignate land use from one district to another. Within 60 days of receipt of the completed form and applicable fees, the application will be presented to Council for first reading. At that time, Council will approve a date for a Public Hearing. The applicant will be asked to attend the Public Hearing to provide details regarding the application and answer any questions Council or members of the public may have. After the Public Hearing has been held and Council has had the opportunity to hear input from members of the public and referral agencies, second and third readings may be approved, or the application may be refused.
The minimal timeframe for Council to consider an application for redesignation of land use is approximately eight weeks. In some circumstances, the approval process may take a longer period of time, or the application to amend the Land Use By-law may be refused.
