Town of Blackfalds - Frequently Asked Questions

 

1.      How do I register for a Town program?

Registration for Town programs takes place at the Town Office.
The Town Office is located at 5018 Waghorn Street and is open
8:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. 

2.      How do I find out what programs are currently being offered through
         the Town of Blackfalds?

For the most up to date information please visit www.blackfalds.com/programs.htm. Other ways to discover what is happening in Blackfalds include; Blackfalds Program Guide, Community Voice, Town Newsletter and Town Signs. 

3.      What is the Town’s Program withdrawal policy?

Withdrawals that are made more than
5 business days from the program start date are subject to a 25% withdrawal fee. This withdrawal fee will apply to each program withdrawal.

 4.      Where and when does the Town spray for
          pesticides?

During the spring, summer, and fall months, vegetation control spraying will take place at various locations in Blackfalds. Where possible, the EcoSystem Auqaside system will be used that uses steam to kill weeds.   Please watch for signage which will indicate areas that are closed due to spraying.

 5.      What are the Water Spray Park hours of operation?

The Water Spray Park is open May through to September, 
12:00 pm – 8:00 pm, weather permitting. 

6.      Does the Town of Blackfalds have outdoor skating facilities?

The Town offers 3 pond skating areas; Centennial Park – east end,
2A Pond and Westridge Pond – north end.  

7.      Is there public skating in the Blackfalds Multi-Plex?

The Jim Hurley Free Skate is on Sundays from 6:15 - 7:30 pm. This free skate is sponsored by the Blackfalds AG Society. Drop-In Skating is also available on school holidays (not statutory). Dates and times can be found in the Blackfalds Program Guide and at www.blackfalds.com/programs.htm .

8.      Are there any camping facilities within the Town of Blackfalds?

There is camping available at All-Star Park however a ball diamond booking is necessary to utilize this service.  

9.      Is there a facility in Blackfalds to host a wedding?

The Blackfalds Community Hall has capacity for 300 and is an excellent location for a wedding. Booking the Community Hall
requires a $100 booking deposit and a $300.00 damage deposit.
