Welcome to the Town of Blackfalds website. Please do enjoy the fantastic amount of information we have available and I thank you for spending a little time in getting to know me and the town better. My name is Carol Simpson and this is my first term sitting on Town Council. I am honored to have been entrusted by the community to serve in this capacity.
Myself and my family, husband Les and son Davis, moved here in 2001 from Stettler (100 km east of Blackfalds). After settling in we quickly found all that Blackfalds had to offer us. Soon we were meeting people and getting involved in local service groups and municipal boards. This helped us not only get to know people but also allowed us to give service back to a community that had welcomed us so readily and treated us with warmth and acceptance.
I approach my term with a positive outlook – with a desire to be part of a large team (citizens, town staff and council members) that will not only see our already great town improve, but become a role model for other municipalities of what can be done with diligence, innovation and creativity.
